Cat. nr. rp—38
"Waterslides is a falling and plunging, short starts and stops aided by movement, until we splash, climb and plunge again. Each sliding is the same but different—with each descent new expectations and thoughts swirl, shifting focus and gaining new insights or blockages. Waterslides are brief moments of remembering, remembering as a present tense activity, one that happens as we think of it, projected on our now. The waterslide is the moment of past and present working in tandem, a movement of repeating, revisiting and remembering all at once.”
Written by nvk 2021-2023. Dedicated to Judi, MM & TNN.
A version of these poems was published as an audio work through Ignota Press’ The Mountain (2023) and included in a reading with James Loop on Montez Press Radio (2023). nvk would like to thank Jan Matthé, Stine Sampers and Michelangelo Miccolis for their patience & love.

to be taught vocabulary. Cover image by Deveny Faruque, received by mail in February 2020 as a good luck charm (15×17cm, screen print on cotton). From the afterword by Maru Mushtrieva:
"Here, the longing for the Other – unsurmountable distance – is actualized not only by the content but also by the compositional design itself. What at first glance appears to be a stream of consciousness, is in fact a synthesis of vocabulary from past text messages. While composing them, Stine Sampers used her phone’s algorithm to decide what to say next, with suggestions coming from the text messages previously exchanged with her friends. The words from different contexts, once chosen carefully, now belong to the careless vocabulary of a machine, welcomed into a loop of misrecognition."

Cat. nr. fd—31
CS90 (with programme repeating on both sides) mixtape by Entr'acte's Allon Kaye, A New Mix in an Old Language. Limited to 50 copies, presented at De Nor on Friday August 17th 2018, after concerts of Miaux and Alvarius B. Covers riso printed at Risiko Press in Borgerhout, dubbed at home on Maxell UR 90 tapes.
Boomkat reviewed it as such:
‘A New Mix In An Old Language’ reels out 45 minutes of prime Israeli new wave/post-punk/synth pop selected and mixed by reputed Entr’acte bossman Allon Kaye. A charming exercise in nostalgia as much as a treasure trove for researchers and diggers.
The title ’A New Mix In An Old Language’ refers to the fact most songs inside are sung and titled in Hebrew, which is arguably a rarity in the swollen reissue market, yet offers no impediment to our enjoyment of the music; a slick blend of sugary pop and disco along with darker, sleazier, rugged strains that recall sounds from the UK, U.S., Germany and the Lowlands between the mid ‘80s and mid ‘90s.
We can point to the few English-titled cuts, DXM’s little known grim grinder ‘Down The Ground’ and the rollicking no wave of Rest/Unrest as highlights, but you’ll just have to check the rest and do a bit of research (like learning a bit of Hebrew) if you want to ID the others.

147x208mm, 28p, riso printed in black on old stock greenish covers and pink pages, limited to less than 100 unnumbered copies. Thanks to Dennis Tyfus and Sis Matthé. Transcription of the recordings and text on the back by Jan Matthé. José Happart picture © Belga. Printed and assembled at Risiko Press, published on February 14th 2019, presented at Behoud Het Balanseer at Gouvernement, Gent.

7 years of titles (ramblings, dreams, quotes, wisdom, apologies) and their respective dates in 180 pages. "Dedicated to De Nieuwe Spelling"
Review by Marc Goethals in Flemish art magazine De Witte Raaf here: "Het hoge tempo waarmee de interdisciplinaire publicaties van Dennis Tyfus elkaar opvolgen is verbazingwekkend.

Brab is also available at Printed Matter here. What they wrote: "Jan Matthé spent a year considering blind spots in his daily routine, wondering what things he fails or see or sees through strong distortion, specifically in a technological age. This diary is a record of that year, composed of every CAPTCHA password Matthé entered while using different websites. CAPTCHA is a computer challenge-response, prompted when a user enters a website, aimed at determining whether the user is human. CAPTCHA passwords generally consist of visually distorted words which would be illegible to a computer, but which a human can easily decipher and type. Sometimes CAPTCHA words are real words, but often they are merely familiar-looking but nonsensical sequences of letters. The compilation of these words, paired with the time and date of each CAPTCHA test, creates a quasi-narrative. The book is wrapped in commercial packaging for an automotive blind spot mirror."

A collection of stills (of the film Blut) by German artist Tina Schott. A mix of found footage and personal archive, the images create a loop of trippy narrative.
"Printed in duotone risograph, these blue and red images are stills taken from Tina Schott's film Blut. The grainy, partial images of people, landscapes, and cartoons bleed into the opposing colored page, creating a primitive 3D effect." (Printed Matter, NY)

What Printed Matter wrote: "Reissue of an artist book/film by Antwerp performer, painter, filmmaker, holographer and Fluxus wildcat Ludo Mich, hand drawn in 1966, printed in 1972. Mich would draw a couple of pages a day in a room painted completely black with only a white paper on the floor, the book (or film, as he always saw it) is a wonderfully poetic and generously personal documentation of movement..."

Cat. nr. fd—2
Artists' book by Tina Schott (D), a smile-inducing documentation of
the one-evening exhibition Ein Großes Hallöchen ("A Big Hello") at Secondroom in Antwerp September 25th 2010, a room sized collage of people waving, saying hello and putting up their hands for whatever other reasons.
Digital print, b&w, 142 x 185 mm, 60p. Perfect bound. First edition of 50, second edition of 30.
From the Printed Matter website: "This publication records an elongated photo-collage that the artist has extended horizontally throughout a domestic interior. Against a backdrop of both white brick and bathroom tile, each page records an ongoing sequence of historical figures seen addressing the public with one arm raised, a survey of salutations in all of their various cultural-political associations. The work is an intimate staging of history; carefully conceived, and beautifully documented."
