Katalog 1 is also part of the Piracy Project library and is described by Printed Matter as "An artists' book that consists of all of the dedications out of the personal library of the author, Jan Matthé. Through this selective documentation, the work becomes a lyrical reflection on the gesture of dedication itself – humbly crafted and bound in a striking orange cover."

Katalog 1 was part of the summer exhibition HELP/LESS at Printed Matter in NY, curated by Chris Habib. The exhibition ran July 14th til September 29th 2012.
